Ingredients
  

For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Fritter Batter

  • 3 to 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying) Heat to 350°F
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar (for batter)
  • 1 large egg (whisked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Set aside for later use.
  • In a pot, heat 3 to 4 cups of vegetable oil to 350°F for frying.
  • In another bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar.
  • Add the whisked egg, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon melted butter, and 1/2 cup whole milk to the dry ingredients. Stir until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.

Frying

  • Dip your mold into the hot oil, then coat it with the batter.
  • Carefully place the mold back into the oil and fry until the fritters turn golden brown.
  • Remove the fritters from the oil and immediately coat them in the cinnamon sugar mixture you set aside earlier.

Serving

  • Serve warm and enjoy! These sweet treats are best enjoyed dusted with extra cinnamon sugar.

Notes

Ensure your oil is at the correct temperature for frying to achieve the perfect crunch. Don't overcrowd the pot while frying.
