Main ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20) Aim for quality ground beef for maximum flavor.
  • 1 tsp Salt To taste.
  • 1 tsp Pepper To taste.
  • 4 pieces Burger buns Soft and toasted.
  • 4 slices Cheese (optional; American cheese) Add for melting perfection.

Secret Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise Mixed into the secret sauce.
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup Mixed into the secret sauce.
  • 1 tbsp Mustard Mixed into the secret sauce.
  • 1/4 cup Diced pickles Mixed into the secret sauce.

Toppings

  • 1 cup Lettuce Fresh.
  • 1 cup Tomatoes Sliced.
  • optional Onions Add to taste.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Form the ground beef into loose balls, roughly 3-4 ounces each.

Cooking

  • Place the beef balls on the hot grill and smash them down into flat patties using a spatula.
  • Season patties generously with salt and pepper.
  • Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Add cheese on top during the last minute if desired.

Assembly

  • Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden and warm.
  • Spread secret sauce on one or both buns, add the cooked patties, and pile on your preferred toppings.
  • Serve immediately for the best experience.

Notes

Use parchment paper when smashing for easier cleanup and to prevent sticking. Experiment with seasonings for extra flavor. Don't rush the bun toasting; a little butter enhances flavor.
