Ingredients
  

For the Patties

  • 2 cans canned tuna, drained (5 oz each)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free option.
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 unit egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Swiss) Substitute with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for cooking)

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.
  • Gently stir in the shredded cheese and chopped green onions. Form the mixture into 4-5 patties of your desired size.

Cooking

  • Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook each patty for 3-4 minutes per side, until they are golden brown and crispy.

Serving

  • Serve the patties on toasted bread, English muffins, or alongside a fresh salad. For an extra cheesy finish, top with additional cheese and place under the broiler for a minute.

Notes

Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Uncooked patties can be frozen for up to 3 months.
