Ingredients
  

For the filling

  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped Feel free to use frozen spinach if necessary, just drain well.
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ea egg, beaten for egg wash Will help to achieve a golden color.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the pastry

  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed Ensure it's thawed before use.
  • Olive oil, for brushing

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the chopped spinach, crumbled feta, softened cream cheese, salt, and pepper until everything is well combined.
  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into strips.

Assembly

  • Place a spoonful of the spinach and feta mixture on one end of each pastry strip.
  • Fold the pastry over the filling and gently twist the strips to create a beautiful spiral shape.
  • Arrange the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops with the beaten egg to achieve a lovely golden color when baked.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they're golden brown and crispy.

Notes

These twists are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze uncooked twists for up to 3 months; just bake them directly from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time. Serve warm with dips such as tzatziki or yogurt sauce.
