Ingredients

For the Margarita

  • 2 oz Tequila (I recommend Patron silver) Can substitute with mezcal for a smokier flavor.
  • 2.5 oz Pomegranate juice
  • 2 oz Orange juice
  • 0.5 oz Orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau) Alternatively, use agave syrup for a vegan option.
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • tsp Ground cinnamon
  • tsp Ground ginger
  • 1 pinch Cayenne pepper
  • 1 sprig Rosemary For garnish.
  • to taste Ginger beer Optional for a bubbly finish.

For Garnish

  • 1 slice Tangerine or orange
  • Cinnamon and sugar mixture For rimming the glass.
  • 1 stick Cinnamon stick For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rub a slice of tangerine or orange around the rim of the glass, then dip it into a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
  • Fill the glass with ice to prepare for the cocktail.

Mixing

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the pomegranate juice, orange juice, tequila, orange liqueur, honey, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Add ice to the shaker, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Serving

  • Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass over fresh ice.
  • To add a festive touch, top with a splash of ginger beer if desired.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick before serving.

Notes

Use fresh juices for optimal flavor. Adjust the spices to your preference; adding more cayenne can give it a nice kick. For a non-alcoholic version, replace the tequila and liqueur with sparkling water or soda.
