Ingredients
  

Salad Base

  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas You can use canned chickpeas, rinsed and drained.
  • 1 cup diced cucumber
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1-2 green chilies, chopped Remove seeds for milder flavor.

Dressing and Seasoning

  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind chutney
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • to taste Salt

Garnish

  • Papri (crispy snacks) for garnish

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the boiled chickpeas, diced cucumber, diced tomatoes, chopped red onion, and chopped green chilies.
  • Add the chopped cilantro, salt, and chaat masala to the bowl.
  • Drizzle the yogurt and tamarind chutney over the mixture and mix everything well until combined.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or spices as desired.
  • Serve the salad chilled, garnished with crispy papri on top for added crunch.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days. Add papri just before serving to maintain crunchiness.
