Cake and Layers

  • 1 box Devil’s Food cake mix Follow box instructions for baking.
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 16 oz whipped cream Store-bought or homemade.
  • 22 oz caramel syrup
  • 8 oz Heath English Toffee Bits
  • 1 King-Sized Heath bar For crushing and topping.

Preparation

  • Bake the Devil’s Food cake according to the box instructions. Once baked, let it cool completely.
  • Cut the cake into small squares, aiming for bite-sized pieces.
  • Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the squares.
  • Place a layer of cake squares at the bottom of your trifle bowl.
  • Spread a layer of whipped cream, followed by a generous drizzle of caramel syrup, and sprinkle some Heath bits.
  • Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the bowl.
  • Finish it off with a sprinkle of crushed Heath bars on top.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

For serving, consider using individual glass cups for a stunning layer effect. Pairs well with fresh berries or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
