Ingredients
  

For the Bark

  • 4 cups pretzel sticks Use stick pretzels for best results
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar delivers that sweet caramel flavor
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for added sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract enhances flavor beautifully
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips melted, for drizzling
  • to taste Sea salt for a sprinkle of flavor

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Stir until it's well blended and starts to bubble gently.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Place the pretzel sticks in a large bowl and pour the caramel mixture over them. Mix until all pretzels are coated.
  • Spread the mixture evenly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes or until bubbly. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate evenly over the baked pretzel bark.
  • While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle sea salt on top.
  • Allow the bark to set completely before breaking it into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. To freeze, wrap in parchment paper and then plastic wrap to prevent freezer burn. Best consumed within three months. Creative twists can include adding crushed nuts, dried cranberries, or a swirl of peanut butter.
