Ingredients
  

Beef Patties

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 ea egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste salt and pepper Adjust according to your preference.

Gravy

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 ea onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form the mixture into patties.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties until they are browned on both sides. Once cooked, remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the sliced onions and mushrooms and sauté until they are softened.
  • Sprinkle flour over the onion and mushroom mixture, cooking for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
  • Gradually add the beef broth while stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it thicken.
  • Return the browned patties to the skillet. Cover and let them simmer in the gravy for 10-15 minutes.

Notes

Serve Salisbury Steak hot over mashed potatoes or rice. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
