  • 48 pieces Ritz crackers (about 2 sleeves) Salted side down for assembly
  • 12 slices deli ham (cut into quarters) Can substitute for turkey or chicken
  • 6 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese (cut into quarters) Use your preferred type of cheese

Glaze Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar (optional, for a sweet glaze)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Assemble the sandwiches: Place half of the Ritz crackers, salted side down, onto the prepared sheet.
  • Add fillings: Top each cracker with a small square of ham and a piece of cheese, then cover with another cracker, salted side up.
  • Mix the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and honey (if you want that sweet touch).
  • Brush and bake: Generously brush the tops of each sandwich with the butter mixture. Bake for 7–9 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the tops are golden brown.
  • Serve warm: Allow sandwiches to cool for a few minutes before serving. They’re best enjoyed fresh from the oven!

Notes

Feel free to use flavored Ritz crackers or add ingredients like pickles or jalapeños for a unique twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, and reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5–7 minutes.
