  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Buttermilk

Cheesecake Filling

  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup Heavy whipping cream Whip until stiff peaks form.

Garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Prepare the red velvet cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake and allow it to cool completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture, incorporating it until smooth and creamy.
  • Cut the cooled red velvet cake into bite-sized cubes.
  • In a trifle dish, start layering: place a layer of red velvet cake cubes, followed by the cream cheese filling. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of whipped cream on top.
  • Top it off with chocolate shavings or colorful sprinkles for that extra flair.
  • Let the trifle chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

This trifle is perfect on its own, but consider pairing it with coffee or dessert wine. It stores well in the refrigerator for 2-3 days, but it's best enjoyed fresh. Freezing is not recommended due to cream-based ingredients.
