  • 2 lb beef roast A chuck roast works best for tenderness.
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Use any barbecue sauce you prefer.
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns For serving.

  • coleslaw For extra crunch.
  • pickles For zest.
  • cheese For indulgence.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Place the beef roast in a slow cooker and season it generously with salt and pepper.
  • Top it with the sliced onion and minced garlic.
  • Pour the barbecue sauce over the top of the roast, ensuring it’s well-covered.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and cook the beef on low for 8 hours.
  • Once cooked, carefully remove the beef from the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it into bite-sized pieces.
  • Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker and mix it well with the remaining sauce.

Serving

  • Serve the pulled beef on hamburger buns, adding any optional toppings as desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat by thawing overnight in the refrigerator and warming in a slow cooker or microwave.
