Ingredients
  

For the Chicken

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels For coating
  • 1 cup buttermilk Can substitute with regular milk mixed with vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper

For the Sauce

  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Use your favorite type of cheese

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the crushed pretzels, salt, and pepper.
  • In another bowl, add the flour.
  • In a third bowl, pour in the buttermilk.
  • Take each chicken breast and first dip it in the flour, then the buttermilk, and finally, coat it with the pretzel mixture.
  • Arrange the coated chicken breasts on a baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, make the sauce by combining the cheddar cheese, mustard, and olive oil in a small saucepan over low heat until melted and combined.
  • Serve the pretzel chicken with a generous drizzle of the mustard-cheddar sauce on top.

Notes

Serve with sides like crispy potato wedges, fresh garden salad, or coleslaw. For a twist, serve in a sandwich form.
