  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (turkey pepperoni works great for a lighter option)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil for cooking
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce for spreading

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay the tortillas flat on a clean surface.
  • Spread pizza sauce generously over one side of each tortilla.
  • Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
  • Lay pepperoni slices evenly over the cheese.
  • Add a sprinkle of garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  • Fold each tortilla in half to enclose the fillings.

Cooking

  • Heat a small amount of butter or olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Carefully place one or two folded tortillas in the pan.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the pan and let cool slightly before slicing into wedges.
  • Serve warm with extra pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Consider adding a green salad on the side or experimenting with different toppings like diced peppers or olives. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for up to two months.
