  • 1 slice Cheese (mozzarella is ideal, but feel free to experiment) Different types of cheese can be used.
  • 1 scoops Pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade) Can be adjusted according to taste.
  • to taste Optional toppings like pepperoni, bell peppers, or olives Customize as desired.
  • 1 tablespoon Butter For the golden crust.

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
  • Place one slice of bread in the skillet, keeping the buttered side down.
  • On the bread in the skillet, layer a slice of cheese followed by a spoonful of pizza sauce, and any other toppings you desire.
  • Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing up.
  • Cook until the first side is golden brown and crisp, then flip and cook the other side until the cheese is melted and gooey.
  • Remove from the skillet, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh off the skillet. Pair with a side salad or potato wedges. Storing leftovers in an airtight container is recommended for up to three days.
