Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar and mix well.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Add baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Mix until just combined.
  • Set aside half of the dough and add chocolate chips to one half for an extra chocolate kick.
  • Take small portions from both halves of the dough, roll them into balls, and gently twist them together.
  • Create a small indent in the center of each cookie and fill it with the creamy caramel if using.
  • Place them on the prepared baking sheet, bake for 10-12 minutes, then let them cool on a rack.

Notes

These cookies are best served warm. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.
