One-Pan Chinese Beef and Broccoli

Ingredients
  

Marinade

  • 1 pound beef steak (sliced thinly) Flank steak or sirloin recommended
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce Use gluten-free if needed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Main ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli florets Fresh for best texture
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For stir-frying
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • to taste salt and pepper

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds.
  • Add broccoli and beef broth, cover, and steam for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender.
  • Return the beef to the pan, mix well, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Notes

This dish is best served hot and can be garnished with sesame seeds or sliced green onions. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
