  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a spacious bowl, mix together the ground beef, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Blend until everything is well incorporated.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and carefully transfer it to a greased baking dish.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • After baking, allow it to rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm alongside mashed potatoes and a rich gravy. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, or freeze slices for up to 3 months. Allow to thaw in the fridge before reheating.
