Ingredients
  

For the chicken

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breast or thighs, cut into cubes Can substitute with shrimp or tofu.

  • 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup For glazing the chicken.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning, divided

For the pasta

  • 8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta Adjust type of pasta according to preference.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can substitute with half-and-half.
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional For added heat.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley For garnishing.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken into bite-sized cubes and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, and half of the Cajun seasoning.

Cooking the Chicken

  • In a large skillet, heat one tablespoon of olive oil or butter over medium-high heat.
  • Add the chicken in a single layer and cook until golden brown, turning occasionally.
  • Stir in the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Drizzle in the maple syrup, stirring to coat the chicken, and let it simmer to thicken.
  • Transfer the chicken to a plate once done.

Cooking the Pasta

  • In a separate pot, boil salted water and cook the pasta until al dente.
  • Reserve half a cup of pasta water before draining.

Making the Alfredo Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt another tablespoon of butter.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and remaining Cajun seasoning along with optional red pepper flakes.
  • Simmer gently over low heat and whisk in the Parmesan until melted.
  • Add reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.

Combining and Serving

  • Toss the cooked pasta into the sauce to mix well.
  • Top the pasta with maple garlic chicken bites and garnish with fresh parsley.
  • Optionally, serve with roasted Brussels sprouts.
