Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef Can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 pound cooked bacon, chopped
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 12 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese For a different taste, swap for mozzarella.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef along with minced garlic and onion powder over medium-high heat until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess grease and transfer the mixture to a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • Stir in the chopped cooked bacon and spread the mixture evenly across the dish.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and 3/4 of the shredded cheese. Pour this egg mixture over the meat and bacon.
  • Top with the remaining cheese for that delicious, melty finish.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes or until the dish is golden and bubbly.
  • Allow to rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

To serve, pair with a simple side salad or low-carb condiments like sugar-free ketchup or mustard. Consider topping servings with diced pickles or avocado. For storage, cool completely before refrigerating for up to 4 days or freezing for up to 3 months.
