Ingredients

For the Sandwich

  • 2 slices slices of bread (your choice) Whole-grain or sourdough bread can be used for added texture.
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) You can substitute with gouda, brie, or cream cheese.
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries Frozen blueberries can also be used, but they may alter the texture slightly.
  • 1 tablespoon butter Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat.
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread generously.

Cooking

  • Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the bread.
  • Distribute the blueberries over the cheese.
  • Top with the second slice of bread, ensuring the buttered side is facing up.
  • Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, around 3-4 minutes.
  • Carefully flip the sandwich and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days, or freeze for about a month. Reheat in a skillet to retain crispiness. For added flavor, try sprinkling a touch of cinnamon on the blueberries before cooking.
