  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese or Cheez Whiz
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls
  • to taste salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Heat a little olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until they soften up.
  • Introduce the ground beef to the skillet. As it cooks, break it apart with a spoon and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Once the beef is nicely browned, reduce the heat and add the cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and coats everything well.
  • Prepare the hoagie rolls by toasting them. Finally, fill each roll with your mouthwatering beef and cheese mixture.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a lower-fat option, consider using ground turkey or chicken. You can serve the sandwiches with crispy fries or a fresh salad for a balanced meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 to 4 days or frozen for up to three months.
