Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef You can substitute with ground turkey or plant-based meat.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Use a homemade blend for more flavor.
  • 1 cup cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 1/4 cup chipotle sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Use freshly grated for optimal melting.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella Use freshly grated for optimal melting.
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • to taste butter or oil for grilling

Instructions

Cooking the Beef

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and mix in the taco seasoning along with 1/4 cup of water. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the flavors meld together.

Warming the Tortillas

  • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or quickly in the microwave to achieve flexibility and avoid tearing.

Assembling the Burrito

  • Lay a tortilla flat on your surface. Start layering with the cooked rice, seasoned beef, nacho cheese, chipotle sauce, sour cream, and finish it off with shredded cheddar and mozzarella.

Grilling the Burrito

  • Preheat a clean skillet and sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese in it. Place the burrito seam-side down in the skillet. Grill until the cheese melts and forms a crispy crust—then flip and repeat for the other side.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with fresh salsa, guacamole, or a zesty salad. Feel free to customize the fillings with black beans, corn, or sautéed peppers.
