  • 1 cup cocoa powder Dutch-processed cocoa enhances flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder For leavening
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances sweetness
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Adds depth of flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and brown sugar until it's smooth and glossy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a different bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips to ensure even distribution.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but centers remain soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For serving, pair with vanilla ice cream, drizzle with caramel, or dust with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for 3 months.
