Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder Can substitute with carob powder for a unique flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Can substitute with flax eggs for a vegan version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Toppings

  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles For decoration.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until well combined.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, top each cookie with whipped cream and finish off with chocolate shavings or sprinkles.

Notes

Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Cookies freeze well for up to three months if layered between parchment paper.
