Ingredients

For the salmon

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (skin-on preferred) Skin-on for best texture.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For frying.
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce Helps keep it healthier; substitute with coconut aminos if gluten-free.
  • 1/4 cup honey Can substitute with maple syrup for a different flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced For that irresistible garlicky kick.
  • Chopped green onions For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and gently pat them dry with a paper towel to ensure crispy skin.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine honey, low-sodium soy sauce, and minced garlic to create the glaze.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, place the salmon fillets in the pan skin-side down. Cook for about 4 minutes, until the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  • Carefully flip the fillets over and brush half of the honey garlic glaze on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 145°F).
  • Drizzle any remaining glaze over the salmon before serving, and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For creative twists, add a splash of lemon juice for a citrusy zing, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for crunch, or include red pepper flakes for heat. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
