Main Ingredients

  • 300 g 5% fat beef mince Can substitute with turkey or chicken mince.
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 1 piece bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 250 g cooked rice

Sauce Ingredients

  • 20 ml dark soy sauce
  • 15 ml sriracha
  • 10 g tomato puree
  • 20 g honey

Optional Toppings

  • to taste sliced spring onion
  • to taste sesame seeds

Preparation

  • Start by chopping the onion, bell pepper, and garlic.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper, cooking for 1-2 minutes until softened.
  • Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes, letting those fragrant aromas fill your kitchen.

Cooking

  • Add the beef mince to the pan. Stir continuously until all the liquid evaporates, and the meat is nicely browned.
  • In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, sriracha, tomato puree, honey, and a splash of water until well combined.
  • Pour this delicious sauce over the cooked beef and stir until the mixture thickens.
  • Fold in the cooked rice and ensure everything is evenly coated and heated through.
  • Top your dish with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds for that extra flair.

Notes

For a healthy twist, consider adding more vegetables like snap peas or carrots. Use a non-stick pan for easy cooking and cleanup.
