Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water Make sure the water is warm, not hot.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted For brushing on top.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a baking sheet.
  • Brush the top with melted butter.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning evenly on top.
  • Cut into sticks and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm with marinara sauce or garlic butter for dipping. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
