  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Ensure it is softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) Feel free to swap for your favorite blend.
  • 0.5 cup sour cream Greek yogurt can be used for a healthier twist.
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup salsa
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions (optional) For garnish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the black beans, cream cheese, shredded cheese, sour cream, taco seasoning, and salsa. Stir until everything is well-blended.
  • Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and smooth out the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the edges turn golden brown.
  • Once out of the oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions if desired for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Serve warm, and enjoy with crispy tortilla chips or fresh vegetables!

Notes

The dip can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge for a day before baking. For a healthier alternative, consider using low-fat cream cheese. You can also add jalapeños or hot sauce for spice.
