Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar and salt, letting it simmer for about five minutes until fully combined.
  • Pour the buttery mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes—watch for those delightful bubbles!
  • Once done, take it out and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Allow them to melt, then use a spatula to spread the chocolate smoothly over the toffee.
  • Top it off with your choice of chopped nuts, sprinkling them evenly.
  • Let it cool completely at room temperature before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage. For variety, consider adding coconut flakes or using dairy-free chocolate chips.
