Ingredients

For the Meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs Can use gluten-free breadcrumbs for a gluten-free option.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Ensure gluten-free if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

For the Spicy Mayo Dip

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • to taste Salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, black pepper, and the egg. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  • Roll the mixture into meatballs, approximately 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned.
  • While the meatballs bake, prepare the spicy mayo dip by mixing together mayonnaise, Sriracha, lime juice, honey, and salt in a bowl until smooth.
  • Serve the meatballs warm with the spicy mayo dip on the side.

Notes

For an extra touch of flavor, consider marinating the meat mixture with your favorite BBQ sauce for an hour before rolling them into meatballs. To make uniform meatballs, use a cookie scoop or your hands—just wet them slightly to prevent sticking. If you want to spice things up, add a touch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
