Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 4 pieces sub rolls (6 inches each)
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 4 oz salami, sliced
  • 4 oz pepperoni, sliced
  • 4 oz ham, sliced
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  • Carefully slice each sub roll lengthwise, keeping them attached at one side. Open the rolls and lay them in the baking dish.
  • Layer salami, pepperoni, and ham into each roll, then top with a generous slice of provolone cheese.
  • Add a handful of shredded romaine lettuce and a few slices of tomato over the cheese. Sprinkle with dried oregano if desired.
  • Drizzle olive oil over each sandwich.
  • Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread turns golden brown.

Serving

  • Cut each sandwich in half for easy handling and serve with a side of potato chips or garden salad. Consider a bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.

Storage

  • Allow the sandwiches to cool completely before placing them in an airtight container. Consume leftovers within 3 days.
  • For freezing, wrap tightly in foil or plastic wrap, and store for up to 2 months.

Notes

For best results, lightly toast the sub rolls before assembling and don't skip the olive oil for optimal crispiness. You can also customize with additional toppings like banana peppers or olives.
