Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts Pound slightly for even cooking
  • 4 slices ham Can substitute with turkey ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese Can substitute with Gruyère or other cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Consider adding grated Parmesan for extra crunch
  • 1/2 cup flour For dredging
  • 2 pieces eggs Beaten for breading
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard For the creamy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cream For the creamy sauce
  • to taste none Salt and pepper
  • as needed none Olive oil For searing

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Lay the chicken breasts flat on a clean surface. Place a slice of ham and cheese on each, rolling them up tightly and securing with toothpicks.
  • Create a breading station: one plate with flour, another with beaten eggs, and a third with breadcrumbs.

Cooking

  • Dredge each chicken roll in flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear each roll until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Arrange the chicken rolls in a baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  • For the creamy sauce, combine Dijon mustard and cream in a small saucepan and gently heat until warm.
  • Serve the chicken rolls hot, drizzled with the creamy sauce.

Notes

Storage: Wrap leftovers in foil or place in an airtight container; refrigerate for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
