Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with whole wheat flour.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Feel free to experiment with different spices.
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Wet Ingredients & Apples

  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced Honeycrisp or Granny Smith varieties work best.
  • 1/2 cup milk Can be substituted with almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Glaze

  • to taste powdered sugar Mixed with milk to desired thickness.
  • to taste milk Used to adjust glaze consistency.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients. Mix until just combined—don’t overdo it!
  • Fold in the diced apples with gentle strokes, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
  • Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, drop spoonfuls of the batter onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each fritter.

Baking

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before drizzling with the sweet glaze.

Notes

These fritters are best enjoyed warm, optionally served with powdered sugar or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
