Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onions over medium heat. Cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes.
  • Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the beef broth, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Grease a baking dish and layer the beef mixture at the bottom.
  • Spread the mashed potatoes over the beef mixture, smoothing it out evenly.
  • If desired, sprinkle cheese on top for a cheesy finish.
  • Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and the top is golden brown.
