  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef to reduce grease.
  • 1 piece onion, chopped
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared) You can use homemade or instant mashed potatoes.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) Choose your favorite type of cheese.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef with the chopped onion and mushrooms until browned. Make sure to drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in beef broth, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • In a baking dish, layer the beef mixture evenly. Spread the prepared mashed potatoes on top.
  • If you're a cheese lover, sprinkle cheese over the mashed potatoes.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is bubbly. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

To keep your leftovers fresh, allow the dish to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months. To reheat, thaw overnight in the fridge and warm in the oven or microwave until heated through.
