  • 2 slices slices of bread Sturdy bread works best.
  • 2 large Grade A eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Salted butter Spreadable and at room temperature.
  • to taste Kosher salt
  • to taste Pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Take a sturdy glass and press down gently in the center of each slice of bread to create a well for the egg, being careful not to tear it.
  • Spread room-temperature salted butter on each slice of bread.
  • Place a rack in the air fryer basket and spray it lightly with oil to prevent sticking.
  • Crack each egg into a small dish first, then pour it into the well of each slice of bread, ensuring the yolk remains intact.
  • Sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper according to your taste.

Cooking

  • Cook in the air fryer at 375℉ (190℃) for six minutes for an over-easy egg. Add an additional minute or two for a firmer yolk.

Serving

  • Carefully lift the egg toast out with a spatula and serve.

Notes

For creative twists, consider adding toppings like fresh herbs, cheese, or avocado. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one day.
